Pines of Kabetogama
A left turn off the rural highway at the big fiberglass fish ends our 2,000 mile journey. We arrive at the Pines of Kabetogama. Lakeside cabins and empty RV sites dot the scenic northwoods shoreline. Our clifftop home for the summer provides peaceful views of Voyageurs National Park. Boats in winter coats line up along the fence waiting for their marine shrinkwrap to be removed. Luxury cabins need cleaning and stocking. Checklists are created. We have much to learn and much to do, despite the chilly air and frozen lake. It’s surreal to be workamping here this summer.
